About Us

The New Dragons Racing Club (NDRC) is a high-performance dragon boat club based out of Toronto, Canada. The club was established in 2011 with the hopes of competing in the 2012 IDBF Club Crew World Championships (CCWC) in Hong Kong in the Premier Mixed, Open, and Women divisions, and U23 Mixed and Open divisions. Following their accomplishments from the 2012 CCWC, including a Gold medal in the 500m Mixed division, NDRC established itself as a competitive and high-performance Premier program in Canada.

The club has continued to establish year-long programs for the Premier, University and U24 divisions and continues to compete at the National and International levels. In 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024 NDRC competed in the Canadian Championships, and in 2014 NDRC competed in Ravenna, Italy at CCWC. NDRC also competed at the 2018 CCWC in Szeged, Hungary, emerging with 1 gold, 2 silvers, and 5 bronze medals. In 2022, NDRC earned our highest CCWC medal count in Sarasota, USA with 6 gold and 2 silver medals. In 2024, NDRC won 6 gold medals and 2 bronze at CCWC in Ravenna, Italy, sweeping the Open and Mixed divisions in Standard Premier.
