Founded in 1998, UCDBC is one of the University of Toronto’s oldest and largest dragon boat teams. As of 2022, University College Dragon Boat Club officially competes as a U24 team for the New Dragons Racing Club in the Mixed, Open, and Women’s divisions.

UCDBC is a dragon boat racing club built upon passion, drive, and resilience. Being one of the fastest university teams in Canada, they pride themselves on cultivating a welcoming environment that fosters personal growth and development. UCDBC is open to any skill level and experience – whether you are a seasoned paddler or brand new to the sport – there is a place for you at UC. They ensure athletes have a supportive community and an environment to build meaningful friendships.

As a highly competitive dragon boat crew, UCDBC maintains a strong training regimen both on and off the water. Their off-season training is tailored to the specific needs of a dragon boat athlete by personal trainer and alumni of UCDBC, Stephen Yee. Having a great support network of alumni, UCDBC is more than just a collection of paddlers, it is a family of strong athletes.

University College Dragon Boat Club aims to continue being a top-performing dragon boat team – pushing athletes to become the best version of themselves in and out of the boat.
